語源

動詞 agree (同意する、一致する) に、行為や結果、状態を示す名詞接尾辞 -ment が付いた形である。
agree の語源は agreeable を参照 (ad- + gratus)。

「同意すること」そのものや、同意した内容である「合意」「協定」、あるいは意見や数値などが「一致」している状態を指す。
