語源

ラテン語の actor が由来で、「行う人、行為者、俳優、弁論家」を意味する。
これは動詞 agere 「行う、動かす、駆り立てる」の過去分詞 actus から派生している。

演劇や映画などで役を「演じる」人「俳優」、あるいは一般に「行動する人」「行為者」を指す。
